in berry chocolate,blackforest and summer berry flavours

yumyumyum.tons better than the canele ones!m not a mad fan of these cookies cos they're usually too sweet,but i acty like these a lot!best i've had in sg so far!ok,so i've only tried the canele,carousel and bakerzin (listed in decreasing order of niceness) ones.BUT these are so marvelicious!in fact,maybe even better than the laduree ones!!!but then again i had them almost 2 years ago so i can't rmb exactly haha...sweet but not cloyingly so!crispy shell with soft ganache filling and berries in the middle...heavenly! (: (am using too many exclamation marks here but this just proves my point abt the yummiliciousness of these sweets heh)...the tinge of bitterness of the dark choc and the tartness of the berries balances out the sweet crisp shell.

now if only these were fat free...i'd have a couple everyday (: hoho.

oh.my.gosh.i cannot believe i'd never been to wasabi tei until last night,and i cannot believe i said the salmon don at miyaki was "fresh" and "(didn't) taste half bad".what in the world was i thinking!!!
everybody who calls themselves a sashimi fan,please do yourself a favour and head down to wasabei tei!
it's at far east plaza,the queue gets a bit mad by 6plus-7ish,the place is very small (sits 16 pax),the chef and his female assistant aren't the most friendly people around (before we gave this place a try we already heard stories about the chef's bad temper and how he once chased a group of giggly girls out!),the atmosphere isn't the most conducive for catching up with friends (the mood in that place is kinda weird,likely cos of said not-so-friendly chef and assistant...it seems almost stifling and actually,most of the time,G,Y and i seemed to be the only ones talking...everyone else in that place seemed almost scared to talk and laugh for fear of incurring the wrath of the chef hahaha),they have strange rules (e.g. they don't allow you to enter until your entire party has arrived,you must order everything the first time the assistant takes your order...if you place a 2nd order u're charged 20% more,or so i heard),they only accept cash payment,the wait for the food is rather long cos the nazi chef is a one-man show...ok so right now this sounds like a pretty sucky place,
BUT
the sashimi is worth braving all that for.it's seriously the most value for money,im pretty sure the quality and quantity they offer cannot be bought elsewhere for S$22 (the chirashi don actually costs 20 bucks but they charge $2 for every seat,which gets u a drink,and the green tea is refillable so it's ok...also,there's no additional GST or service-what service?-charge),it's that good.there aren't any pictures (didn't have my camera with me...and even if i did,im not so sure i'd dare whip out my camera and start taking pictures in front of the food nazis haha) but here's what came with my chirashi don (apparently the ingredients vary slightly,according to what's in stock):4 pieces of salmon, 3 pieces of mekajiki, 2 pieces of hamachi, 2 pieces of crab stick (the ex kind not the pok kind) and an extremely fresh uni (!!!)-all this on rice with pickles and ebiko.the salmon was my favourite...the marbles of fat were like AHHHH!it was really fatty and fragrant and absolutely yummy.and mind you,the slices of fish are not the paper-thin kind of pok pieces,the average thickness of each piece of fish was the width of a PAIR of wooden chopsticks.not one chopstick,the whole pair.ohmygosh i feel hungry just thinking about it now hahaha.
the chirashi don comes with a complimentary appetiser and miso soup,and as you are savouring your last piece of fish and feeling sad that it is the last piece,the lady serves you 2 slices of watermelon-a very subtle hint to say "i think it's time you leave".and as you are about to finish the fruit,your bill is promptly served.
this sashimi is not for the faint-hearted.there's really quite a lot of raw fish so i guess you have to really like sashimi if not u might find it jelat.
pity i have no pictures of the food,but i will definitely be returning soon (and introducing everyone to the place...G is alr quite keen and L is returning soon muahaha) so hopefully i'll be posting pictures of the bestest value for money sashimi in a while (: in the meantime,no one should deprive yourself of this treat!
p.s.i recommend going as early as possible...we reached just before 6 and didn't have to wait
p.p.s.for non sashimi fans,fret not,they have like cooked stuff also.G doesn't quite like raw fish and ordered the unagi don which was pretty good as well (comparable to the sun with moon one,i feel)

school has been very exciting and interesting but tiring and stressful at the same time cos eopt's in a week's time (thus the lack of updates) :X
but here's some pictures from dinner at miyabi at RTC

we were there really early so the place was quite empty...it started filling up later and there was a big japanese family there too i suppose the food's not too shabby even by jap standards (:

the 7 of us had 2 salmon sets (i think $43++ each),2 beef sets (about $45++),a chirashi sushi ($58++) set and a lobster set which was good for 2 ($128++).these were super super filling and very worth it.there are too many pictures so i shall post individual pics of what came with the salmon set (which i had) and collages of the other sets/dessert.all sets came with fruit (the rockmelon was super sweet and nice) and the chirashi sushi set came with the matcha ice cream but the black sesame and tempura ice creams were ala carte orders (:

this was some unagi cucumber salad which was unremarkable (this is my new favourite word.systemic review--unremarkable.family history--unremarkable.physical examination findings were--unremarkable.not nice salad--unremarkable.hahaha how handy)

the sashimi was really fresh and good

i thot the stuff on top of the agadeshi tofu was roe,but it turned out to be some spicy mushy thing.still this was quite nice...the gooey skin wasn't too thick.nothing woah tho.aiya basically my new favourite word sums it all up again

the tempura prawn was sweet and juicy and the batter was crispy but waywayway too oily.i was told that the mark of a good tempura is when it's crispy but the thin white paper beneath it has no trace of oil stains.the amount of oil on the white piece of paper beneath was worse than that u'd find on say the facial blotter of someone with a REALLY oily face.so,not so good :s haha

teriyaki salmon.this was nice but nothing to shout about.i still found this to be slightly too sweet for my liking but then it's not as sickeningly cloyingly sweet as some teriyaki dishes tend to be.

the soup was a miso base but with the 3 pieces of salmon in there it was really sweet and nice.i don't really appreciate the bony jelly-ish parts of fish but if u do u'd like this one.

the salmon don...anything with fresh sashimi and salmon roe can't taste half bad :D

and because i'm too lazy and the pictures are taking way too long to load,here are collages of the other sets.too lazy to describe each course also

this was the beef set.the tiger prawns were nice and the beef was good but even the medium-rare was a bit too well done,i'd have prefered it less cooked

i think this chirashi sushi set was the least worth it but the octopus appetiser with the roe on top and the maguro sashimi with mango sauce were nice

a picture of just 4 of the courses from the lobster set..can't remember how many courses i missed haha but there was this super nice and sweet lobster soup also.there's really a lot a lot of lobster so i think it's worth the price.lobster fans would really enjoy this.the lobster sashimi came and like the i-dunno-what-they're-called feelers (??) were like moving spontaneously periodically so that was quite a sight.i suspect it's like how deep tendon reflexes are preseved in brainstem death?!eek.

the rock melon was really really sweet and nice and the ice creams were good too (is it just me or is the scoop of sesame ice cream really really round?i wonder how they do it).the tempura ice cream was the most unique...it's mango ice cream covered in a light batter (there's definitely some egg white in there) and is really nice (:

all in all it was quite a good meal..the service is also prompt and attentive.i think the salmon and beef sets were really worth it.as u can see the salmon set is really like salmon-overload tho so if u want variety i think the beef teppanyaki set's the way to go...it came with beef,prawns and salmon.

have been too lazy to update recently :X
but anyway,here's some pictures from dinner at astons prime...the pictures aren't very good,used T's camera cos i forgot to bring mine

the warm bread roll was served with a herby garlic butter.good start to the meal (:

the caeser salad was a big serving for the price (about S$10 i think) but wasn't very nice.the salad wasn't very tasty and the croutons were hard and not crispy

the following are some sides we had (+S$3 for every main course ordered)...

the mac and cheese was quite nice..it's cheesey but not too cheesey (less so than the kenny rogers one) so you won't get jelat very fast.this wasn't very consistent tho,we had 2 portions and 1 portion was too dry while the other one tasted better since there was more cheese

the potato skins were ok but nothing to shout about

i liked the steakhouse fries best!these fries were huge (some pieces were like 2x the length of the largest potato i've seen and it didn't look like it was made from 2 potato pieces joined together...i really wonder how they do it),crispy on the outside but soft and potato-ey on the inside,and lightly seasoned with salt and paprika.mmm (:

and here's the star of the show..we each had a portion of prime rib,this was the 10 oz cut done medium rare,for S$39.90 i think.

the steak came with a redwine sauce and mustard (english/dijon,upon request).personally i didn't find this very good...the beef was quite tender but rather bland...the parts that were non-fatty were tasteless,not fragrant and lacked oomph.the redwine sauce was interesting but i thot the taste of the wine was too strong and overpowered the (almost non-existent) taste of the beef.

the dessert selection was limited but mudpie sounded like a good option (very reasonably priced too,at S$7 if i remember correctly) but this was sold out ):

comparing the prime rib at astons to where we usually have steak (stuart anderson's black angus steakhouse...sadly the branch at one fullerton is closed;there is,however,a branch at the orchard parade hotel,next to modestos),i'd much prefer the latter.at black angus, the caeser salad (with honey mustard sauce) tastes much better and on good days,the beef is much more tasty and fragrant.they also serve their steak with a light brown sauce that complements,not overpowers,the taste of the beef.black angus also does a nice garlic mash,a staple for us when we have steak.lastly,the mudpie at black angus is really good!

ok actually this place isn't that bad la.the fries were nice.and there's no service charge (but the service was still good)...probably wouldn't be returning here anytime soon tho.

on the same day i ate dimsum i also had cheesecake at the cheesecake cafe along east coast road,near siglap centre.i always thot it was quite a kuku place cos sometimes when i pass by it's like closed and really dark at night but sometimes it's open and really crowded.turns out,according to their website http://www.thecheesecakecafe.sg/,they're closed on mon and tue.not so kuku afterall.

just a couple of pictures of the chocolate brownie cheesecake (i think) we had because the rest turned out to blurry.must've been too eager to tuck in :D anyhow,i think they've got pictures on their website too...

if im not wrong this was a daily special or something?!i don't think they sell it everyday.but anyway this was really yummy!! (: it was dense but not too rich and we felt less jelat than we'd thought we'd be by the end of this

the peach jelly cheesecake was quite ok.it's quite light so those who don't like their cheesecakes too rich should find this one quite nice?i don't particularly fancy jelly tho and this tasted a bit too whipped cream-y for my liking so it was alright only

the blueberry cheesecake is very very rich i can't even finish half a slice of it.

and i shall end off with some pictures of the rather interesting decor...the place is cosy and it's nice but at the same time a bit "messy"...it's like they haphazardly put together some paintings and statues and stuff

this was a statue beside out seat.i felt like i was in one of those european museums again.haha

it is not a pleasant feeling to be having school in seven and a half hours time ): i think i might need some comfort food ): ): perhaps i shall savour my last krispy kreme original glazed that is happily sitting in the fridge :D

dimsum

this was the day i woke up at SEVEN am on a holiday for dimsum breakfast at chinatown.it was also the only day in the week i got up before noon i think.i amaze myself sometimes
at teck poh (i think...the chinese name's de2 bao3) at smith street,where there's a whole row of dimsum stalls.

there was quite a lot of century egg in the century egg porridge but 1.i used to like century eggs but now i am not a fan at all,2.the century eggs were not fresh...the yolk was a little yellowish and the white wasn't as translucent,3.even tho the porridge tasted quite nice,there was no century egg taste infused into it cos i think they don't cook the porridge with the egg in it but just put the egg into the porridge before serving (no matter,since,refer to point 1.)

very sadly they had no banana prawn roll ): ): they only serve those on weekends.so the auntie recommended seafood spring rolls instead which wasn't that nice...at least i won't order it again if i go there

the chee cheong fun was quite ok but the old airport road food centre one is still nicer

the siewmais were quite small but nice..not too fatty and u can see the prawns and stuff which was good.

fu pei gun (i only know what it's called in canto..literal translation:beancurd skin rolls) were ok only

on the whole the dimsum here was quite nice but nothing to shout about.

1. the saigon baguette and chicken baguette from "baguette" at raffles city basement (near mrs fields,opposite cedele) is really quite yummy!and the raffles city branch is closing on 15 april (i think) so now there's some promotion..u pay just $2 for a baguette with every drink purchased (the soda chanh costs $2.20) so yea that's worth checking out (:

2. i find donut factory donuts nicer than j.co ones and so does 2 of my other friends who've tried the 2

3. the chicken rice from tian tian hainanese chicken rice (stall 10) at maxwell food centre is really really yummy and is well worth the long queue (or maybe we were just really hungry but no it's still very nice)

had lunch with A today and surprisingly A suggested something other than thai express this time.haha.

so we had the unhealthiest ytf there is,at fu lin along upper east coast road
and because we both didn't have breakfast we went crazy and happily picked many many pieces and ended up paying 16 bucks for a ytf meal! (inclusive of the barley drink and noodles)

they deep fry the ytf here and then put a thick sauce with minced pork over which makes it yummy (: the wantons are my favourite and i always have at least 2 wantons when i eat here.A likes the you tiao

yes,that's what 2 people ate.ohmygosh we're such pigs.but erm to our credit we couldn't finish it!haha.

at times like these it's good to be meeting sporty friends later in the day to actually do some form of exercise before having dinner haha.and so,we went cycling (: but i didn't bring my camera so no pictures from dinner but anyway we shared rojak,orh lua,fish soup and pigs intestines soup (only F ate this one :s)and chendol drink from marine parade food centre...the chendol drink was nice,the black sesame ice cream from scoopz (at parkway parade) was also nice (G likes the watermelon flavour and later when we randomly walked into cold storage she taught us how to choose watermelons...apparently u have to hit it and listen for the sound.so we tried and they all sounded different but the problem was we didn't know which was the right sound!anyway yes just a random food fact of the day) and the company was the nicest (: BUT the orh lua (from the food centre),not so nice.there was hardly any orh.

lunch at giraffe (at istana park)..we had the set lunch ($21.90++) and maybe we ordered the wrong stuff but i really found the food not very nice.especially with a price like that.probably won't be returning anytime soon,at least not for the set lunch.
ambience-wise it's really quite nice,i can imagine it'd be really romantic at night haha it's such a date-ish kinda place.ok anyway here's the food

i enjoyed this the most..foccacia with some really nice olive paste thing..i think there was finely chopped olives,olive oil,garlic,some herbs...maybe some chilli.i thought this was the best part of the meal actually

this was the prawn and mango salad.there was hardly any dressing at all and it just tasted too..healthy.hahaha not my kinda salad :p should've opted for the soup of the day instead

grilled seabass with grilled veggies and mashed potato..again this tasted too like healthy and bland haha ok i sound like i have really unhealthy eating habits

so the set lunch comes with a starter,a main and a drink (and they don't serve water at giraffe.and i don't really fancy places that don't serve water on the house)

so anyway after the really healthy-tasting meal and after walking around a lot,we decided we needed dessert.and then i remembered hearing about the tea time deal at kuriya ($5++ for a drink and dessert from i think 2.30pm or 3pm to 5pm)...this was at the basement of raffles city,for those who are interested in checking it out

for the drink we chose orange juice (boring,we know.but it was the only cold drink that was part of the set and we really really needed something cold after walking so much haha)

on to the more interesting part..dessert:

this is the grilled ice cream which was quite interesting.it comes in this bamboo boat thingy atop a bed of ice.basically the inside is a nice vanilla ice cream and the outer part is some slightly chaotah-egg-white-tasting thing.kinda like the japanese grilled version of meringue?

this was ice cream with red bean paste,fruit,and some jap jelly cubes at the bottom which can't be seen clearly from the picture..on the right is like little cup of thick honey that u pour into the dessert cos the jelly on its own is tasteless

i think this tea time promo thing is definitely a good deal and the grilled ice cream is nice..i suppose it's a novelty.the tea time promo is also probably the only thing on their menu i can afford eating on a regular basis...glancing thru the menu,most of the bento sets cost about $40plus.from the decor and service,can tell this is an atas place.

finally the ordeal that is exams is over :D i suppose it's never really gonna be over for the next many more years,but nevermind,at least there's a 12 day break for now=catching up with friends (: over nice food=more pictures of nice food muahaha

and before i sleep for however many hours i can afford to before i head out for lunch,here's some pictures from dinner at a-roy thai last week

i love these keropok things with the chilli sauce!the chilli was quite nice and spicy

stuffed chicken wings!$3.90 a piece but these were quite fat (and fatty too with all the oil)

check out the filling...prawns and minced meat that tastes like the kind of minced meat and olive patty used in olive rice...this was one of the nicest dishes for the night i think.

black pepper crab vermicelli which i thought was such a disappointment!i think it cost something like $38 for half a crab and it wasn't even that yummy!the vermicelli was nothing impressive also and i found it a bit too gingery

garlic fried rice which was very garlicky but i like garlic so that's ok.but hmm this just tasted like it looked..nothing great..i prefer the tse char kind of fried rice with the wok-hei

some egg omelette with minced chicken thing..looks like a prata in the picture haha

it's filled with minced chicken and some ketchupy sauce that was quite sweet..didn't really like this one

the beef green curry was nice and thick

we ordered fried fish maw which cost abt $16 if i'm not wrong?but it was a total rip off as u can see there are more taugays and chicken slices than fish maw.the taste wasn't anything fantastic either

a-roy thai is along upper east coast road,in the same row as pasta fresca and megumi etc.it's always quite crowded (was quite full when we were there,but then again it was a sunday night) and maybe we ordered the wrong dishes but on the whole this meal wasn't very impressive and there were more misses than hits.the only dishes i'd recommend are the stuffed chicken wings and beef green curry.

this was some pasta and gratin set.came with quite a lot of stuff for about 20bucks:

cream corn soup and a small salad

prawn gratin (penne)

carbonara

with a runny yolk! :D

vongole pasta with wafu sauce (this didn't come as part of the set...was a separate order)

apparently wafu is like some fish powder thing.
anyway the pasta here is like jap-ish so the carbonara didn't taste like the italian kind (and i think i prefer the italian type) but the runny yolk was quite nice.runny yolks can never go wrong :D
i can't decide if i liked the food.i suppose it's something new...the prawn gratin was quite good tho and the sets are quite value for money!

an assortment of cheesecakes-wasn't very well done at all.the base was all crumbly and some of the flavours tasted quite strange...the strawberry was nice but extremely sweet
these left us terrible disappointed and i doubt i'd be returning to essential brew...but to be fair we didn't have any of their appetisers or mains so those could be good?

lunch at mezza9--the burger was quite nice and the dessert (banana crepes with chocolate sauce and a super yummy hazelnut ice cream) was the best part of the meal but u can definitely get better steak elsewhere...like at black angus.wasn't extremely impressed on the whole

dinner at cedele:

shrimp avocado sandwich which was quite nice

black pepper crab penne which was very good (especially the softshell crab!) even tho it wasn't quite what i expected and it wasn't that black peppery..the pasta itself isn't very tasty but together with the sweet crabmeat and slightly salty softshell crab it tasted nice (: but im more a spaghetti/linguine kinda person than a penne/fusilli person so i'd probably have liked it more with a different kind of pasta

chocolate pistachio cake...it was just a small slice but definitely had to be shared...the chocolate was really rich and chocolatey,which is a good thing,but it did get a bit jelat halfway thru

baked these chocolate malteser cupcakes to celebrate T's WONDERFUL results today :D
i think this still needs much fine-tuning...the texture is a little odd cos i was too lazy to do one of the steps properly heh but T has kindly said that (and she's making me blog this now) these were "not too sweet,not too rich,not too buttery,but just right" :D must've been the results talking.

i suddenly miss Camp Empower quite a bit.the company,the hospitable lao people and new friendships forged,their chillax way of life...

off we go to laos on the lao airlines propeller plane

some dubious-looking meat-patty sandwiches that were served on board...haha.when we first received our meals served in cardboard boxes,g and i looked at each other.

we were tempted to get seconds.whatever meat that was,it was really good.haha

every other day for 2 weeks we had oily scrambled eggs for breakfast,and when we din have scrambled eggs,we were served equally oily sunny-side-ups hahaha towards the end we were quite sick of eggs but felt bad so we told mr P erm it's ok,we don't need breakfast.and 9 of us shared the box of triple chocolate crunch ( :D:D:D) K brought over when she joined us for the 2nd camp haha.

and everyday,the staff and volunteers there prepared lunch for us and the camp participants brought packed food from home and we all sat around the mat on the floor and ate together (:

the lao people were too kind..every meal we had a few meat dishes to ourselves while the participants mostly had boiled vegetables/egg.
the dishes were eaten with sticky rice (khao niao) and chilli!

on the cultural-exchange day (i think this was from the 2nd camp) the participants showed us how sticky rice was prepared...

the us$1+ baileys from xayoh cafe.haha.we only had this on our last night there in case we got drunk and couldn't conduct camp the next day hahaha.

the super yummy us$0.10 coconut ice cream with glutinous rice from the cantonese-speaking auntie by the road! (: the auntie was very nice to us cos we popped by so often haha

and on some days after our little debriefing and sharing sessions we would troop down to "chinatown" for supper...

on the final day of camp they offered us one of their delicacies..fried grasshoppers :s and
yes,i ate one :s i cannot imagine how i could bring myself to put that into my mouth! (but the thing is,i couldn't...F had to feed me cos i was too humji and the participants insisted we tried it so we thot it wasn't very polite to refuse :x hahaha)

i do not understand why we didn't take pictures of the yummy pastries from the scandinavian bakery or my all time favourite joma oatmeal raisin cookies!!someone should seriously bring joma into singapore.

i wonder if i'll get to go back to lao-land a third time (:

it shocks me how often im updating this blog thing;clearly,studying isn't much fun and food is a distraction from the insane amount there is to cover :X

this was at dinner w yy and j.we wanted to eat orh-lua quite badly but the orh-lua stall ran out of the orhs (oysters) and the uncle suggested prawns instead so we had a heh-lua

i am not a fan of rojak but this is one rojak i actually enjoy.the last time i came with yl and p and introduced them to this,we had $7 of rojak along with A LOT of other food.haha

read from other foodblogs that this ckt was good but never tried it before so we decided to give it a go.i don't find it very good,it's just...normal.

this handmade chee cheong fun (ccf) was delicious!we tried the prawn and charsiew ones..the ccf is really thin and they're quite generous with the filling,and it all goes very well with the (oily) sauce and chilli!

sadly,my favourite stall,nam sing hokkien mee wasn't open that day...please try it if u go to OAR foodcentre...i think it's the BEST hkm ever!

and because the entry,just like any meal,doesn't seem complete without dessert,here's pictures of waffles from out of the pan (at raffles city)

i think these were the hazelnut royal waffles...but don't bother...to me they look a lot better than they taste.

and while im at it,here's a couple of pictures from lunch at peperoni (greenwood ave) last week...
adjourned to watten rise for frutti la viva after that,which has "the BEST durian gelato"/"is like eating frozen durian" according to my durian lover friends/sister.im ok with durian only so it's not fantabulous to me but yea if u love durian u shld really give this a try.forgot to take pictures of the gelato,tho.

anyhow,wanted to order the XXL pizza...but for more practical reasons we opted for 2 large ones instead,which allowed us to pick 4 flavours instead of 2

this was the capricciosa and suprema flavours,which were the best 2 flavours in my opinion...capricciosa's gotta be my favourite,with the generous amount of OLIVES ARTICHOKES and MUSHROOMS!yummylicious!and as adviced by my foodie friend L the last time we went,i repeated the same request of no ham for the capricciosa,but more mushrooms instead "cos the ham's not the nice parma ham,it's the cheap ham" hahaha.i love L (:
the sausage on the suprema was really quite good

and that's the fruits de mer and salmone flavours.the seafood was not bad,came with mussels,prawns and squids but i think for seafood they aren't so generous with the ingredients...but the prawns were yummy.the salmone was horrible,way too salty (it's smoked salmon not fresh).very disappointing considering it looked promising with huge salmon chunks and caramelised onions as a topping.am never gonna get this flavour again!

OHYES,while we were there,we saw these 2 ladies who ordered the XXL pizza and finished more than half of it!!amazing!like seriously,even L and i/G and i couldn't pull that off,i think!hahaha.G seems keen on making that our next outing after final exams...skipping breakfast and then making a trip down and attempting to finish more than half the hugeass pizza between the 2 of us HAHA.im not sure that's humanly possible.

pity i didn't take a picture of the XXL pizza we got the last time.shall post one if i go again,altho prob not anytime soon

this was lunch with L and G when they were still at chip bee..went once to the new dempsey outlet more recently but somehow didn't take pictures then...

i forgot to take pictures of lunch haha i think i was too hungry...but anyway,here's pictures of a yummylicious homecooked dinner...

appetiser of baked juicy portobello mushrooms with garlic and parmesan.trust me,it tastes way better than it looks

baked tomato and goats cheese on baguette,with salad

main course:marinara spaghetti...with loads of OLIVES :D

and the dessert which i contributed (regretably i am not domestic goddessly enough to have prepared all of the above)...macaroons!these are wayyy better than those from bakerzin which,quite franky,kinda suck.but of cos they cannot be compared to the laduree ones!!
maybe after the dreaded exams i will attempt baking these gems :D OH! C is going to europe for exchange i hope she enjoys many pierre hermes laduree and sprungli ones and brings some back for MEEEEE (:
anyway for those interested,got these from canele at raffles city..box of 6 for about 15bucks..i recommend the dark choc,salty caramel and milk choc flavours,in that order.
